I had the pleasure of being able to attend and photograph my cousin, Rachael's, wedding this past Saturday. She and her new husband Paul planned this wedding in a matter of just a few months and it was beautiful. I was very impressed by how everything came together. I love them both and wish them a lifetime of happiness. Here are the previews of their wedding photos. I had the pleasure of photographing Mike & Chenta's wedding reception on Saturday night. Mike & Chenta were married on January 28th, 2010, but waited until Saturday to hold their reception. I would love to be posting all of the photos right now, but I ended up taking over 800 photos that night, so I'm still in the process of sorting and editing them all. I've been working on getting some good night shots. I'd really like to go down to Waikiki at night and get some shots down there, but I really need to get a tripod first. These two were REALLY hard to get without one.

Memorial for a Coast Guard Hero

When it came to choosing the pictures for this post, it took me some serious time and thought. I mean, how do you choose which photos are the most "important" photos to show for something like this. I wish I could have posted them all, that's probably why there are so many.

Tomorrow is a very special day. Tomorrow I have the most important photo assignment of my photography career.

On October 29, 2009 the US Coast Guard lost one of its C-130 aircraft to a mid-air collision in the Pacific ocean off the coast of Sacramento, CA. One of the crew aboard was a very close friend of my husband's. Carl Grigonis worked with James on nights at the airstation here in Hawaii for over a year and James looked up to him a lot. They had only just recently moved to Sacramento.

Tomorrow is a memorial ceremony for Carl at the Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. His beautiful wife, Kirsten, and his two young children, Hayden and Kalina, are on the island for the ceremony. Kirsten asked me to photograph the events tomorrow and I could not have been more honored to accept.

I had the wonderful opportunity today to shoot for a couple of great friends today. Nate is currently leaving the Coast Guard, but worked for quite awhile with my husband at the Air Station. Alayna is a school teacher and works with me at Banana Republic. Their beautiful daughter, Samara, is 14 months old and one of the cutest little princesses you will ever meet. Relocation :(

So I hadn't posted about this yet because we weren't really sure what was going on with it...but it's definitely coming up quick. Being a Coast Guard wife, I knew this would happen sooner or later...the hubby and I are relocating to Atlantic City, New Jersey sometime this summer. I'm definitely not excited about leaving this beautiful place, but I look at it as a new adventure.
